Party events is a misnomer. There is very little party atmosphere surrounding LP solicitations for aid. Perennial LP candidates spend the majority of their free time trolling for support to finally get elected to a public office; they aren't currently earning wages as incumbent or career politicians. They have two jobs.

So I'm not surprised that I haven't been contacted more often to volunteer my services, though volunteerism is the basis of many underfunded organizations. Who has time? Candidates are busy soliciting aid from other candidates who are actively trying to avoid saying no directly; the chase leaves little additional time to launch events that require a volunteer base to lead the organizing and coordinating.

Conventions are the backbone of sounding the Libertarian message.
